Social Justice Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 18th, Lina and the Social Justice Club students had a day of service learning in the Tenderloin. Everyone spent the morning at Glide Memorial Church and worked in the kitchen to prepare food for distribution to those in need. Students then took a walking tour of the neighborhood with a seasoned guide who has been working with local social service organizations for many years. The students earned 5 hours of community service for their work and were happy to be able to help.

Table Tennis Team

Table Tennis 2017 Woodside started the Spring off with a quick bounce, playing against Compass High. Our school is now a member of the Bay Area Small School Athletic League (BASSAL) and this month our Table Tennis team traveled to San Mateo for our first match of the season. The team (Alan Chan, Kiel Mayr, Bob Bao, and Adam Liu) won with grace and humility, providing the fans with back and forth excitement. The team continues the season with the following schedule: May 2 3:30pm Stanbridge School, May 8 3:00pm Sterne School, May 9 3:30pm Compass High at Woodside, May 16 4:00pm Lycee Tournament. If you want a soft serve go to Dairy Queen, but if you want to see some slicing competition, support the WIS Table Tennis Team!

Earth Day Community Service Field Trip

On Friday, April 21st all students and full-time teachers spent the day at Stern Grove working on various projects in the park. It was a beautiful day, and the students worked cooperatively to get a lot done. The park employees were very pleased and invited us back for next year. Students earned 5 hours of community service for participating in this field trip and got a commemorative Earth Day t-shirt. We appreciate everyone’s hard work and look forward to doing this again next year!
